Beginner help with flash

I want to write a slide show and it looks like I need flash to do this (correct me if I am wrong). If I do actually need flash or if there are other options, but flash is the best...what are some good sites to learn from and also, I have linux on my computer. What program can I use for linux to code?

Flash or maybe using javascript and HTML. For example:

Go for it flash and flash already give a option of Help. So go on Help and search query. and solve it .
