    Wink htaccess for construction page?

Hi, I've got a site at impactgr.com and I'd like users to see a 'notice' page (comingsoon.html) which announces our new website (currently in development). I did this by writing the following to the htaccess file:

    DirectoryIndex comingsoon.html
Then that page links to my index.html page (which is my old homepage).

The problem is that Wordpress (currently installed in a sub-directory) doesn't like that I've done this. So my question is, is there a way I can make my comingsoon.html page show up when someone visits my site, still link to the old index.html link, and not interfere with wordpress?

    Thanks for any help!

You could probably use mod_rewrite to direct yourdomain.com/ to the comingsoon.html page, and still have access to your index.html

I'm not an expert with mod_rewrite, and maybe you can't use it for the base URL, but this might work if you add it to your htaccess:

RewriteEngine On # Turn on rewrite engine
    RewriteRule ^yourdomain.com /comingsoon.html

    - You might also have to uncomment the line with the mod_rewrite.so module to turn on rewriting.
