    SVN dir isn't password protected?

    I've set up a SVN repo and use it with web addresses. Somehow over the last month I've made an Apache conf change and the address isn't protected. Any recommendations on what would override and undo permissions?

    Thank you for any pointers!

    Code:
    #httpd.conf:
    <Location /svn>
            DAV svn
            SVNParentPath /ABC/svn-repos

            AuthType Basic
            AuthName "ABC Repos"
            AuthUserFile /ABC/dav_svn.passwd
            Require valid-user
    </Location>
    Code:
    /ABC/svn-repos# ls -la
    total 28
    drwxr-xr-x  7 www-data www-data   4096 Sep 19 18:15 .
    drwxr-xr-x 15 root     root       4096 Jul 21 18:02 ..
    drwxrwx---  7 www-data subversion 4096 Jul 21 19:56 test_repo_one
    /etc/apache2# cat mods-enabled/dav_svn.conf (entirely commented out)

    http://abc.com/svn/test_repo_one (works for check outs and commits)

    Your config looks standard and correct. Your problem must be coming from elsewhere.
    for(split(//,'))*))91:+9.*4:1A1+9,1))2*:..)))2*:31.-1)4131)1))2*:3)"'))
    {for(ord){$i+=$_&7;grep(vec($s,$i++,1)=1,1..($_>>3)-4);}}print"$s\n";

    I'm still not seeing what this would be? If I comment out #SVNParentPath /ABC/svn-repos nothing works, so it's used. The httpd.conf file is included after modules are loaded in apache2.conf so mod_auth should be running. There's nothing in the error logs? Drat.

    Looks like it was the "Require valid-user." The Apache docs should be more consistent about when it's required with Apache versions.... I couldn't get "require valid-user" but "require group subversion" working for posts.

    Code:
    #
    # Subversion settings
    <Location /svn>
    	DAV svn
    	SVNParentPath /ABC/svn-repos

    	Order Deny,Allow
    	Deny from all
    	AuthType Basic
    	AuthName "Restricted Files"
    	AuthUserFile /ABC/dav_svn.passwd

    	#AuthGroupFile /etc/group
    	#<LimitExcept GET PROPFIND OPTIONS REPORT>
    	#	Require group subversion
    	#</LimitExcept>

    	Require valid-user
    </Location>
