Taking On Huge Project With No Experiance - Can It Be Done

    Hey Guys,

I'm about to take on a HUGE project for my small business. I need to create a website that is way more advanced than the basic stuff I know.

For an Idea, I built this website: www.penroserealty.com

but that website is candy compared to what I need to do.

I'm looking to build a website that utilizes (i guess it would be called) dynamic content.

The website idea is going to be similar to this:

    http://www.nakedapartments.com/

Basically, people can find rental listings as well as get matched up with roomates.

I have the layout in my head - i know what I want it to look like. The GUI is no problem, I can make most of the front end - the biggest issue is the back end that everything will be saved to. I have no idea how this stuff works.

Where the heck would I begin with this?

Is anyone interested in taking this on with me?

Sounds like you already took it on. I've got $1 000 000 on the fact that you've also undercharged because you didn't know what you actually had to do for it. Save yourself and back out of it if you don't know how to do it.

I'm all about learning as you go in the web dev profession, but you can't use clients as your learning tool. If you're taking on a new task, do it for your own purposes first, don't let a client be a guinea pig because these guinea pigs can sue.
