    Opening a new window

I know how to link to a new web page. what I want to do is provide additional information to the subject on the page the user is on. I would like to open a window without any of the extras, espessially the browser bar with the address window in it. i do not want them to be able to go to another web site from this page. I would like the window to open smaller than the page they are on so they can see both pages if they want to.

Can this be done in html or do i have to use java or something else?

    Thank you
    thanks, r1012
