    problem with sessions

I have some session variables that store user authorization information once their log-in is approved. If I have several tabs open, close the tab with the website, then re-open it, the session is not destroyed. How do I destroy the session if someone closes the tab or navigates away from the page?

Session cookies are typically maintained until the browser is exited completely. Two mechanism that "fight" this are timeouts and onclose events -- you may want both. Expire sessions server-side after N minutes, and fire an asynchronous logout call when window.onunload is triggered.

I agree with Apple. Flash is just terrible.
