Little help - removing scrollbars and adding a gif

    Hi,

Just got a domain and ready to write up my html for my initial page. What i want to do is simply have a large .gif as a background, text over the front. With no scroll bars around the edge (i think i need css for that). I need the background to be compatible for most screen sizes, so it looks right on a 26"+ imac screen right down to a 13" laptop screen. So what dimensions/format/html would i need to have the gif in to work well on the page?
As you can probably guess i try not to delve so deep into technical aspects thus making simple tasks like a challenge, any help would be very much appreciated!.

    Thanks

    Harry

I don't think you'd need to do much to enable this. Create a GIF which is no bigger than 1024*768 (800*600 just isn't used anymore... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Display...puter_monitors)

Set the GIF image as the body background without repeating and you're good to go. I assume it will need centering too.

    Your page
    will inherit
    the browser attributes
    of
    the requestor.
    Browser size, and bars.
