Using SVN with Shared Hosting (CPanel)

This is not offered on Cpanel, VPS has this. How would you go about checking out your project and working on it.

I thought perhaps if I checkout the project on localhost (Windows) and just have some FTP sync program to deal with the changes when I want them to push through. But this method is not all that great.

I want to checkout to a shared hosting. What I am using is CPanel (No SSH just basic FTP).
