Does anyone have any recommendations for a free web hosting site? I have used 20m.com in the past and that ads way too many pop-up ads and banners for my liking

I have been using heliohost.org and have been quite pleased.

Benefits:

• Includes everything you get with paid hosting (PHP, MySQL, etc.)
• Really good help forums (I always get an admin reply within a couple hours)
• No Ads on your site (they show you a couple adds when you edit the site, not your visitors)

Drawbacks:

• Downtime- Historically, there has been quite a bit of server downtime, but in the last 2 months, uptime has been pretty good. You can take a look at my site up/downtime by visiting http://stats.10stoptours.com
• Space- I think you only get 250MB

Heliohost is completely free. As far as I know, you cannot even upgrade to a paid account on heliohost.

In my point of you free hosting are not suitable for professional web site.If you are going to host small professional site then better use shared hosting.I suggest you to have a look at 9cubehosting.com here they provide Linux hosting based web hosting with good uptime and customer support.
