how can i run a PHP script every night?

hello,

I'm used to creating basic websites and uploading them to a (usually free) web-hosting service.

Now I wish to create a large website with a lot of potential traffic and that runs some PHP scripts every night ... and I'm willing to pay for that pleasure...

How can I run scripts every night? I've heard that this can be achieved by the operating system... but does that mean that I can't use a web-hosting service and that I need to do something different?

1. Speak to your current (or prospective) web host. Ask them what can be done.

2. If they cannot help:you can launch a php script using JavaScript.
