i used background repeat-x
so that i will repeat vertically.
and everything was fine
but then when i go to the web page
and zoom out.
i see there is a tiny white space in between the repeating background.
how can i solve this.
I looked at your web page and zoomed out. I saw no white spaces. What browser are you testing against? I used Chrome. If you are using IE7 or earlier the solution is simple: update the browser!

There is a 1 px or so white section on the right hand edge of the image itself. http://www.cidigitalmedia.com/tutorials/background.jpg
To verify, create a new blank doc in PhotoShop 2000 x 500 px. Give the doc a high contrast background color... not white or black (neon green for example). Open your image in PhotoShop, then drag your image on top of the green background.
Small white line on right hand side.
