where do I put this?

I am following this tutorial, and am not sure where to put this. here is the code:

I just put it in the head tags. It gives me an error when I do this though.

It goes in the XML file that you load like this:

$('.box_skitter_large').skitter({xml: "xml/slides.xml"});
