I am a photoshop newbie and I made this website header for my husbands website and I can not get his picture to look Not Photoshoped in, any suggestions would be awesome, Thank you!!
It is a rather plain header. Adding more style will add more zing. But you really need a logo for branding purposes. This though will require you to think hard. I would suggest for logo making you do a search in Google on making logos and take some tips and apply them when making your logo. As far the current banner, you need to figure out a look your going for and figure out a way to apply it. Your asking for more that technical advice, your asking for artistic advice which very subjective.
I actually really appreciated this advice- creativity and art has never been my Forte... however the header you saw was different than the one I posted the comment about-
He told me what he wanted and that's what we ended up with, but I agree, very basic.
I would have put in a drop shadow and maybe a page curl. I really don't understand what you mean "Photoshopped in" as it has just been added to the page using a link to the photo. Think I would have set the scrolling element's background to transparent so people can see the nice background image used. You may have to adjust the color contrast for text, etc. if you do.
