My suggesstion is that for you don't go anywhere. you can learn html and other basic languages from w3schools.com. its best for you.

yes few but in which basic langauges. now depaned on him what he want to learn html, css, jquery or javascript, php. i remcommend him first he learn html + css then move on php langauge.

All you need are books on PHP/MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery and of course the good old html / css. Below is a picture of my web development books. That is just one book shelf and the latest versions. I threw many of the PHP 4 books away when I moved. Apress seems to have the best written materials.
