I'm trying to get my html mail form which is (housed inside of an .asp file) to display the date of the referring document.

So far I have tried this in Javascript, JScript and now trying in ASP, but I keep getting a compilation error in JScript and ASP that tells me it is expecting a ";" with a compilation error code of: 800a03ec

Here is what I have used in the body.

		Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
		Set a = fso.GetFile(Server.MapPath("\") & "\default.asp")

		Response.Write ("DateCreated: "  & a.DateCreated & "<BR>")

		Set fileObject = Nothing
		Set fso = Nothing

<script language="JScript">
    function get()
      var myObject, f, date;
        myObject = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
        f = myObject.GetFile("http://somesite.com/test.txt");
        date = f.DateCreated;
        alert ("The date this file was created is: " + date);
THEN JAVASCRIPT (i'll put my JS question in the JS section)...

However, I am not getting the compilation error with the JavaScript. I am just getting UNDEFINED and my testing to try to define it has been futile. Maybe it only reads HTML files?

I'm also confused as to why the ASP is throwing an error. I don't know too much about it, but I'm pretty sure a line terminator ( is not needed where the variable name is.

Any clarity will be appreciated.
