I am going to be distributing a javascript-based application as freeware and would like to have some people help me with beta testing. I'm only looking for willing participants at this time. The application has the ability to backup drivers from Windows 7 (Vista too?) and also displays the product key used for the installation (of any running Windows NT-based OS). The application is called "DriverBackup Free Edition" (I know, not really creative, right?)
I'm not looking for criticism about this post but anyone is welcome to contact me via PM for a free copy of this application and provide feedback. It's not as 'modern' looking as most applications nowadays but it gets the job done good as far as I can tell. I'm looking for suggestions as-well as bug reports. Please note that this is not a complete application and I'm going to be working on adding loading bars next.
The file will be a .zip file containing two executables, one for 64-bit Windows and one for 32-bit. Please make sure you choose the right one for maximum stability (they both run the exact same .hta file, but using different resources).
For certain reasons, I am going to place the MD5 hash of the .zip file here:
"F2EE7B660B8E0662B180C393668705E5"
Just an added thought, I will give every contributor a mention in the final distributions. Whether you would like a tag name, your real name, or both would be up to you. Anyone experienced with client-side web design will be able to contribute to this application.
Also, I can provide the original (unobfuscated) source code for this application to anyone who can prove useful skill in the field of JScript/JavaScript or even VBScript for the purpose of collaboration of changes to the algorithms behind the end product. The original code is clean (enough) but I have obfuscated the protected code that is released publicly.
P.S.
Please don't leave your E-Mail as a reply to this thread. Please PM (Private Message) me with your E-Mail address instead.
I have now uploaded the source code of this project to SourceForge.net under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License. I would very much appreciate any extra help I can get with this project. Even if you can just run it once and give me and error reports that would be great. Thank you
