Increasing Traffic to A Local Domain

Hi

I have local website in my country (co.za). The website is made using wordpress, and im am trying to improve my traffic.

To do this, I bought the .net and .org equivalents of my local website. I then redirected the .net/.org using cPanel redirect option.

My website only pops up during a local search on google.co.za. Will these redirects help list the website rank higher ?
