    get text from say <textarea>

Hi, I am a newbie. I am trying to make a webpage. The user should input some text. (Students about themselves) and when they click submit, I get it as an email.

What is the best way to do this? I have a php script to do this I think. Is php the best way to go?

Thanks for any tips, pointers, links.

Any Form Mail script will do this for you. A quick Google search will show you thousands of choices. Good luck!

Recommend using a server-side script language if your web site allows it. Otherwise, you will have to use a client-side dependent "mailto:" action to get the form info sent to you. Your current hosting package or service MUST allow SMTP ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simple_...nsfer_Protocol ) to work. Otherwise, no email can be sent.
