I use IE7 to navigate around the 11,000+ pages on my web site and select "View Source" from the drop-down menu when I want to edit the HTML. It's so efficient I hate to have to give it up, but as time goes by there are increasing IE7 limitations, incompatibilities and problems. Any advice on the best up-to-date browser product that will still allow me to efficiently edit a page I am viewing?
I don't use the browser for editing, but since you're already used to IE7, you could - you know, upgrade to IE9. It's editor/debugger has it's good points.
You might also consider switching to a smart text editor like Notepad++. Lots of text editors have built-in features for web developers and programmers.
you should be testing in multiple browsers, what works in IE may or may not workin in Firefox etc. also Firebug and the Web developer tools in conjunction with Firefox is a VERY powerful tool for a developer be it css javascript or whatever
Firefox with the firebug plugin is the way forward but you should be moving towards notepad++ or even aptana studio 3 as an editing means. They're free and very good.
