was recently hired to upgrade a website. part of which was to optimize for SE's (which i reluctantly agreed to). was considering renaming the URL's to include keyword phrases, derived the Google keyword/phrase too. for example
does that seem like a good idea?, any input on this would be appreciated.
Tread lightly with keywords in URLs - three or four is OK, and focus on the page topic more than target search phrases. Use all lower case and hyphens, not underscores. Why not use .htaccess to make them pretty urls?
I use .htaccess and QSA for this
yes thank you. i will try.
i had a client on register.com and did try to do that but couldn't get it to work. i even did something ( with the the .htaccess file) where the site would not load!, tech support would not help me.
