    Help with if statement

    I have some tabbed content which I can toggle and I also have a form with a bunch of variables. What I need to do id change one of the form variables depending on what content is being displayed in the tabs. So...

    if <div id="tabs2-pane1" class="tab-pane active"> then var id_form = 35;
    if <div id="tabs2-pane2" class="tab-pane active"> then var id_form = 272;
    if <div id="tabs2-pane3" class="tab-pane active"> then var id_form = 100;
    if <div id="tabs2-pane4" class="tab-pane active"> then var id_form = 10030;
    if <div id="tabs2-pane5" class="tab-pane active"> then var id_form = 10025;

    Here is my html code:
    HTML Code:
      <!--TAB AREA-->
        <div class="container products">
          <div class="tab-pane" id="tabs-side">
            <div class="tabbable tabs-left">
              <ul class="nav nav-tabs span2">
                <li class="active"><a href="#tabs2-pane1" data-toggle="tab">Double Glazing</a></li>
                <li><a href="#tabs2-pane2" data-toggle="tab">Triple Glazing</a></li>
                <li><a href="#tabs2-pane3" data-toggle="tab">uPVC Doors</a></li>

    For testing purposes, could you include your CSS commands?

    Also, I'm not sure what the var id_form = 35 means yet,
    the id value if used in a DOM element I believe needs to start with a letter or "_" characters (possibly others)
