window.open('remote_url') can be used to open a window with content of remote_url. But since the remote web page I want to display has all kinds of links to his style sheets and Javascripts, I'd like to display the content as if I opened his page in browser, view source, select all (^A), copy (^C) and paste (^V) in my editor and save as a local html file and display it. Since his calls to stylesheets and Javascripts have URLs like '/somepath' without server name, some buttons etc. in my local page will look funny. But that's fine. So, is there a way to grab the text, not recursively following URL's, of a single web page so I can write it to my own window?

I think I need to get an HTMLElement of the remote page and use innerHTML on the document or its body?
