Shadow effect without edges

Im trying to design a content divider with a box shadow effect. (below is an example of the effect I'm trying to reproduce.)

I'm having trouble replicating the drop shadow effect without creating unwanted edges on the left and right corners.

The drop shadow effect attached to content divider (in the picture above) appears to be slightly curved.

Any ideas would be much appreciated

You may have to work with radial gradients instead of box shadows to achieve a curve:
