IE shows diffrent image size than FF, Chrome and Safari

I haven't been able to figure this out. I added a banner to the site. It shows the correct size in Firefox, Chrome and Safari but shows a smaller size in Internet Explorer. There is no weird stylesheet stuff going on, it's just a standard image tag and positioning.

The banner in question is FALL 2012 REGISTRATION IS STILL OPEN

To me the banner looks the same in all browsers. Are you defining the image dimensions specifically? Also, how are you placing the image? (CSS or <img>)

I suspect that the nav bar above the banner is changing size, not the banner. Perhaps that is your problem?
