I cant seem to figure out the proper syntax for this line.
Specifically, I am looking for the $threads['thread_id'] part. The rest is working fine but for some reason this is not working. I have tried $threads[thread_id'] but that gave me an error so I went with the code above and it did not give me an error but does not print the content in the variable. The array I am printing is a multiple line array taken from a mysql database. I know my query works as it has been tested.
<a href="read_post.php?tid=' . $threads['thread_id'] . '&subject=' . $threads['subject'] . '&name=' . $row10['name'] . '
i assume you closed the a tag correct?
<a href=" ... " >
Yes I have closed the tag correctly. The issue I have is with the syntax of calling the specific array value that was retrieved from the database. There are multiple lines called with my query with multiple thread_ids. This is what I am using and it is not working:

here is a small example:
check if the array values are being stored properly, otherwise you wouldnt be able to pull any value from that database.
$sql = 'SELECT joketext FROM joke';
$result = $pdo->query($sql);
catch (PDOException $e)
$error = 'Error fetching jokes: ' . $e->getMessage();
while ($row = $result->fetch())
$jokes = $row['joketext'];
