    Advice for a newbie

    Hello everyone
I am new to this site and website development. I am currently in the process of making a career change into Web development. I am enrolled in a program at a local university (however it is less than stellar) and spend a lot of my free time watching tutorials at Lynda.com

I now have a decent understanding of html and the basic concepts of CSS. I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on what areas I should really focus on. Also if there is any programs, concepts, ect I should start to learn now.

I appreciate any advice and thanks for the direction.

Also sorry if this posted twice. I posted this and didn't see it in the forum and thought to try again.

hm, you should focus Javascript also and its related libraries like jQuery and mootools. read some good articles about responsive websites and Search Engine Optimization, then try some server side language like PHP etc...
