my calendar is being hidden behind this image...

and my z-index code is being ignored. I have a feeling it is being ignored because of AlternaTIFF, the tool bar on top of the image.

I'm attaching a picture of what's going on... any help would be greatly appreciated..

The calendar is built through php and javascript/jquery.

Keep in mind that z-index only applies to positioned elements - either 'relative' or 'absolute' will work. I'm not familiar with that toolbar, but things like that often have ridiculously high z-index settings to keep them in front of all other elements. So you may simply have to make an adjustment to the add-on or your own code.
