Add standalone MOV player to webpage

I am repeating the basic question asked in thread http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/sh...e-.mov-to-HTML

I need to create a “stand alone” webpage which I will place on my laptop that will allow me to selects from a series of .mov files and play them when the internet is not available.

The previous thread included references to:

    • codebase='http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab'
    • codebase="http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/mplayer/en/nsmp2inf.cab#Version=5,1,52,701"

Do these solutions require an on-line connection to those sites to get the cab files? If so they will not work for me. I need a standalone solution, even if I have to install something on the laptop, that is fine, as long as it will work when I’m not online.

I would like the player to have controls, pause, continue, volume, full screen, etc.

Just download the Quicktime player/browser pluggin. Once the pluggin is installed in your Web browser, you don't keep to be conntected to the Intenet to play .mov files.
