Hi Everybody! CowGirl Here!

I am in a bit of a pickle and was hoping somebody can help me.

I have a <div> tag with lots of <p> tags inside, and all is good. I am using css so that all the <p> tags in the <div> tag have a set padding.

The problem is that I am trying to insert a horizontal line inside this <div>. I tried taking a <p> tag and attaching a class to get a horizontal line to appear and it works, but I cannot change the padding because it is set by the <div> css rule. This is the problem - I want to change the padding for the horizontal rule so that it is different than that set for <p> by the <div> rule.

Code:
<div class="new_spread_word_main_body">
<p>Send an email to your family and friends</p>
<p class="new_spread_word_hr_line"></p>
</div>

Can I replace the horizontal line <p> tag with a <div> or <hr> tag, like set out below?

<div class="new_spread_word_main_body">
<p>Send an email to your family and friends</p>
<div class="new_spread_word_hr_line"></div>
<hr class="new_spread_word_hr_line"></hr>
</div>

I just don't know if you can insert a <div> or <hr> tags like this.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
