CSS, XHTML, Div image repeat.

I'm not that awesome. I need help. Can I make the following work somehow?

I need to just display 150px wide pic from the tip top -left of the screen down to the bottom-left and have it fixed. In the end this 150px wide pic needs to have some sort of padding or negative zindex so the main body cannot overlap or overlap it properly. The screen has a 10px margin at the top and bottom of the page (if that means anything.)

My CSS:

.keys{position:fixed;top:0;left:0;background:url(../images/2.png) repeat-y}

My HTML:

<div class="keys"></div>

How can I make this work in my favor? I feel that I'm looking in the wrong direction.

Yes I do. The problem is still there with an additional change to what is "wanted." I can get the code that I have and post it in here later today. I hope you can help.
