for years i have used frontpage to create my website, i am not finding that alot of the hosting companies no longer have frontpage extensions available and will slowly fade them out.
i have also been told that frontpage writes terrible code and is not very SEO friendly. is this true?
i am looking to rebuild my site using dreamweaver, does this program create a good site that is more SEO friendly?
During the development of a website, developers must use a variety of tools. Software to create the site, edit graphics, transfer files, SSH or telnet into your server-this article will cover five of the best.
I recommend you to read SEO theory and use some text redactor (e.g. Notepad++) and you will be able to do all SEO optimisation in it during development.
Thanks for taking on this responsibility and for all the support and feedback
you've been providing.

Hallo everyone.
DreamWeaver has always been a great development tool. With the latest releases like CS5 its taken away the burden form web developers especially those working on Open Source.
I personally use HTML Kit 292 - a free Web page Editing/Authoring facility that provides the following features:
Text Editor can be used for hand coding ala MS Notepad
Pre-formed constructs, elements & attributes can be used via drop-down menus
Split-screen viewing of code generation "on the fly"
Previewing of page layout in multiple graphical Browsers
Selection and use of Doctype headers (HTML/XHTML/XML/RDFa)
Syntax checking and correction via "Tidy" plug-in "on the fly"
Tidy generated "pretty print" code
Multiple File type editing: .html (all "flavors") , .xml, .css, .rdf, .rdfa, .php, .js etc.
HTML-XHTML Markup conversion
Online .html & .css document validation "on the fly"
Spell checker and Thesaurus
Search and replace facility for content management
