    lightbox format for opening website links

    i have a client that wants all the links from his site to open in a lightbox format and i am having so many issues, is there such a thing as a code that tells it to open all links in this format? any help is appreciated

    It is possible to intercept all links using JavaScript, and there are undoubtedly examples you could find with a few searches. I'm not sure exactly what you have in mind, but you should certainly let your client know that this is a bad idea before you put any more time into it. Anything that changes the expected behavior of a browser is risky because it can make users uncomfortable with visiting the site, and can easily be annoying because it takes extra time before they see what they wanted when they clicked on the link. Users are far less likely to return to the site or ever become a client/customer in these cases.

    It's the client's decision, of course, but as the developer you have a responsibility to let them know when they're making a questionable choice in the design.

    I understand its isues and have explained them to the client but its still want he wants, any help would be appreciated as this has been a thorn in my side! i have the links opening as pop ups basically right now but he wants the colorbox effect the site is http://nnacanada.com
