    Computer memories

Currently we measure computer memories as follow :

    gigabytes
    terabytes
    petabytes
    exabytes
    zettabytes
    yottabytes (24 zeroes)

    What's next (27 zeroes) ?

    hellabytes
    or
    manybytes

    I'm suggesting
    Jedibytes

Instead of adding zeros, why not make the ones we have more efficient?

Less bloat and more functional and efficient use of the memory. That's the trick.
I can remember when 64K was more than enough to do most tasks at the time.
Now we have tons of memory to save spam and useless emails for products I don't need.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the extra capabilities of additional memory,
but it seems wasteful to have it and use it so thoughtlessly.

    Right!

Or why not actually come up with a standard for what a byte is so there aren't so many discrepencies between each machine?
Ever looked up the definition of a byte?

There is no memory standard so if there is a discrepency of 767 bytes at 32k because someone decided to round how big does that discrepency become when you get to a yotta byte?
