I just wanted to know if page rank is important in ranking sites in Search Engines.

The higher the Page Rank, the more trust you will have in terms of google eye and will have the better chance to rank high for certain keywords.

Ya Of course..Google initially crawl the websites with high PageRank..So for better ranking for a keyword your website need to have high PageRank..
