    sending a jquery value via .load

    How do I send a jquery value via .load? Here is what I have:

    $("#formLoad").load("functions.php?cmd=3&statusUpdate=status.val()");

    Try this:

    $("#formLoad").load("functions.php?cmd=3&statusUpdate=" + status.val() );

    JS doesn't evaluate expressions inside quotes. The + operator can be used to concatenate strings.
