Can anyone advise me the best video format to convert my video clips to so I'm covering the most popular devices.These clips will be available for customers to download their PC, Mac, Androids etc.. I will be
uploading in access of 200 x 5 minute clips a week to my server but only have the bandwidth and capacity to be able to render and upload the clips in one format.........Any advice
would be appreciated.
From which formate to what formate you want to have about your video clip. Will you please specify. Because android support MP$, WAV and many other extension. Better you just go to search engine and find out best converter. Thanks

Is M.264 the best format for most platforms (PC, MAC, Android) or can I convert to a format that is even more compatible. I have Xilisoft Pro conversion software. Not sure if it's possible to do this but I'm trying to get away with converting to just one format that will suit most platforms instead of converting to lots of different formats to suit all platforms. Hope this makes sense.
Your information is very helpful. I was hoping I could get away with converting my videos to just H264 format but it appears I will have to allow for additional conversions to cover android, PC and ipod/ipad.
Perhaps one day someone will come up with a 'one size fits all' solution but until then it's extra work for us content providers.......
