how/where to create animated GIFs ???
See previous post re Adobe Photoshop CS6 problems with animated GIFs.
Does anyone have suggestions about creating animated GIFs nowadays? It used to be so simple. My first animated GIF circa 200 was using Macromedia Fireworks. I'd hate to have to re-learn that or another program, but Adobe has mucked up Photoshop CS6.

Thanks Major Payne. You always come up great references.
I tried to check out a few. Would have to learn a new program.
My BIG complaint is against Adobe. GIFs in Photoshop were once so simple, then a bit tricky, now in CS6 impossible. Think Adobe has gone nuts. They junked up Macromedia Flash; now Adobe is junking up Photoshop. And Adobe "Help" is ridiculous.
If I have to learn a new program, I might as well check out Fireworks, which used to create animated GIFs under Macromedia.
TOO, tooooo simple. Why did not Adobe HELP say so.
Window>TIMELINE (also but may not be necessary Window>WorkSpace>Motion). In timeline section click arrow to choose FRAME ANIMATION, then click on that "Frame Animation" line to create a frame. This also displays the icons at bottom of Timeline to duplicate, etc. frames.

Thanks again, Major Payne. But I'm most comfortable with Photoshop after all these years and the simple solution I noted above solves the problem.

Reason: mark RESOLVED
If you want to cheat, rather than create Gifs from scratch, you can run a game (like Dawn of War or C&C), zoom in on a unit and hit Print Screen every second.
These print screens are then stored in one of the game folders, where you can save the individual photos, crop them and turn them into Gifs.
Thanks for your kind info i get lots of info from this discussion thanks again.
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic.
i had needed to know about the animated gif. thank for posting.
Well if you want to stick with Adobe it's gonna be complicated. I'm making animated gifs with Bannershop GIF Animator and it's straightforward. I suggest using locally installed tool because it's much faster than uploading frames online. Also you have much more animation effects and you can move all objects around to figure out attractive layout.
Well creating animated GIFs and Videos can be done right away at mozvideo.com and the services are really affordable and tell you what you can also try trial version of the services,
Here it is : mozvideo.com
