How to encode the javascript in an efficient manner?

I tried a packer(javascriptcompressor.com) to encode the javascript(.js) but the packer is not that much efficient. Can anyone suggest an efficient javascript(.js) encoder? or is there any other way to protect the javasript(.js)?

You can try several compression methods using my multi-purpose tool at http://danml.com/slim/ .

closure and uglify work well together, closure first.
you can use my slim or dean's packer (w/base62) if you need every last little bit squeezed.
you can also use [Tools]>[run all] and compare different method's performance.
Create, Share, and Debug HTML pages and snippets with a cool new web app I helped create: pagedemos.com
