Apart from SEO friendly, you have to think of SEO friendly too.
I have something to add to your list. Some points, which you've better to avoid in designing a seo-friendly website:
- Try not to use Flash when possible
- Avoid using frames
- Avoid using too complex tables when laying out your page but to keep them simple for the spiders
- Avoid creating menu on the left-hand side of a website
A website is a major part of a brand’s identity nowadays. Presence in search engines is also obligatory to ensure wide reach. Here are some tips to build a unique SEO friendly website;
Firstly, determine the objective of your website and requirements in terms of features & functionality.
Create a hierarchy showing major parts of a web design process.
Study marketing requirements and determine optimization strategy.
Frame keywords, Meta tags and content with targeted phrases.
Begin design work of the website after analysing competitors.
Use latest coding standards and techniques for development work.
Also arrange for customer communication system.
To create the SEO friendly web design you should create the proper Meta tags for the website and also use the proper title tags and heading tags from H1 to H6 in the title according to their importance. Include the target keywords in the URL of the website. Include the ALT tags for the image in the website when you are including the product images. Give the internal linking in order to move from one topic to another.
