Thunderbird is good but it can't be better than Outlook, you have lots of flexibility with Outlook, I would say.

Is your email server an IMAP server? Do you keep copies on your server?

You would only need set up outlook with the account access credentials and it will download all your emails.

Apple mail archive are in .mbox format which is not a supported Outlook format in windows. You cannot import this file, that's why.

You might want to look for a .mbox to .pst converter.

Though there might be some manual tricks or technique, but nothing is better and easier than a third-party converter app. There are software companies in the market which provide third-party tools for MBOX to PST conversion. You can try any one of them.

Or if you are looking for any recommendation, then I would like to suggest you to try SysInfoTools MBOX Converter tool. This tool can convert your single as well as multiple MBOX files (normal as well as corrupted) into PST and other popular file formats, such as: EML, MSG, DBX, HTML and RTF.

To read more about this tool, you can visit: sysinfotools.com/mbox-converter.html

    Thunderbird(MBOX) to Outlook Emails

Thunderbird file holds user mailbox information in MBOX file format while Outlook does same in PST file format. To open Thunderbird MBOX file in Outlook PST format user need to convert MBOX file in PST format. Manual method is also available to migrate from Thunderbird to Outlook but it is very tedious and time consuming work and also one erroneous step will results in complete data loss. To avoid risk of data loss and for safe and secure conversion I would recommend opting for Stellar MBOX to PST converter software. I also used this software to perform migration in secure way.
