    Other databases?

    Up until now i've only been using a MySQL database with my PHP. What other databases do you think I should learn to use if I want to become a good web developer. Also, is SQL a language used by a lot of databases or only the MySQL database. Other databases i've heard of are Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server Express, SQLite, MariaDB. What other databases do you usually use along with PHP?

    Most relational databases use SQL, though there tend to be minor differences between each, though usually the core functionality is essentially the same. Of those, I'd say that PostgreSQL and MS SQL are probably the most likely alternatives to MySQL you'd likely use in conjunction with PHP. You might also want to look into some of the alternatives to RDBMS's, such as Mongo or Solr.
