Can you help? Our new website
We are a company looking to build our first ecommerce site for our family business, which will have a quite a few specialized features. Design-wise we have found a site that is very, very similar to our preferences (vacheron.com). However, this site is not an ecommerce site.
We were wondering if anyone has any ideas on how we should proceed in order to figure out potential cost and implementation challenges we face (perhaps some of you can see some of these challenges immediately?) as our programming experience is limited. Initially, we are looking at using Magento.
Our first choice would be to hire a web developer and just ask. However, our budget is limited and we would like to get an idea of the cost before we get in over our head from a cost perspective.
Any help would be highly appreciated
Thank you for your time and effort.
We also wish to help the developer as much as possible and we were wondering if anyone has a template of sort on how, and what kind of, information we should give to the developer (we don't want this to happen: http://www.topwebdesignschools.org/design-clients/).
The real secret is finding the web developer (company?) that knows enough to ask you the right questions, to find out what your business needs are, and to come up with a solution that best matches your business needs, budget, and schedule -- remembering that all 3 of those are interconnected, and when you change one of them, at least one of the others has to grow/shrink in response.
Depending on your technical expertise, it may be premature to start with the assumption that Magento is the way to go -- it may, in fact, be a good choice, but it might be a bit early to jump to such a conclusion. A good developer may know of a better solution that better matches your specific business needs.
Long story short: the real trick is finding the right developer. Unfortunately, the better s/he is, likely the more s/he will cost. However, that increase may only apply in the short term: pinching too many pennies now may result in spending more total dollars down the road as you scramble to fix an initial mess.
Okay, enough rambling by me. In closing:
I am a web consultant and recently I got to know about many web development firm, which are applicable for what you have required. The e commerce website is cost up to $300 to $400 but vary as per developer requirement. You can visit and contact with web developer.
