    resolved [RESOLVED] My jQuery code won't work

    I copied the following code from another website, and while the demo works on the other website, when I paste the following code into a page on my website nothing is displayed.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Code:
    <!DOCTYPE HTML>
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>My jQuery Page Loading Effect</title>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="jquery-1.3.2.min.js"></script>
    </head>

    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(document).ready(function(){
    	$('#page_effect').fadeIn(2000);
    });
    </script>

    <body>
    <div id="page_effect" style="display:none;">

    <h1>JQuery Page Loading Effect</h1>

        This is page loading effect with JQuery
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>
    The page with this code on my website is here:
    http://www.glitzandglamdesigns.com/fashion/fade.shtml

    The original code was taken from this website:

    I copied it onto my localhost and it works fine.

    Instead of using "jquery-1.3.2.min.js" replace it with "//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js" and see if it works.
