    phpMyAdmin

Suddenly, I'm unable to use phpmyadmin. I logged in to phpmyadmin today only to see the following screenshot and message:

    http://www.ntc-dfw.org/brad/php.jpg

    SELECT *
    FROM information_schema.CHARACTER_SETS

    MySQL said:
    #1146 - Table 'information_schema.CHARACTER_SETS' doesn't exist

Any link I click on in phpmyadmin displays the same page and error message. I have not messed with any of the databases or code in the last month, but it just now started showing this error. After looking around google, I think it might be a version problem, as I'm running MySQL 4 and might need to upgrade to 5. But why would it just now have an error, unless webhost (verio) changed something.
This is my first time posting and any help would be appreciated...Thanks

I think you'll need to talk to your web host support, to find out if they changed something (perhaps inadvertently), if your database files were moved/corrupted/deleted, etc.

Thanks for the reply...the webhost said I need to upgrade from MySQL 4 to 5. If I do this, will I lose all my databases and tables?

Are they asking you to upgrade MySQL itself, or just to upgrade phpMyAdmin to a version compatible with MySQL 5?

If you have to actually upgrade MySQL, then your reading assignment for today is http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/...us-series.html
