    resolved [RESOLVED] Problem hiding a div

    Can anyone tell me how to make this code work?

    I am trying to hide a div from within this code before I have it fade in,

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
        $(document).ready(function(){
        $('#column-left').display="none";
        $('#column-left').fadeIn(2000);
        $('#column-middle').fadeIn(4000);
        $('#column-right').fadeIn(6000);
    });
    </script>

    $('#column-left').display="none"; -------> $('#column-left').css('display','none');

    you should read documentation before using something <wink>

    Thank you so much for your offer, but I prefer to use on-line content where I can search for the subject I am looking for.

    I have purchased so many website design related books, and I never seem to use them.
