Visual Representation of Website Directories - Visual Sitemap
I am looking to reorganize the folders and pages within our web site. I have used the unix command "tree" to create a text generated representation of our web tree, but would like to use something a bit more robust graphically.
Does anyone know of such an application? It doesn't need to be anything flashy, something like a mindmap of the directories would work, where I could put notes on it to discuss why I would like to move directory A under directory b, for example.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
The above might be what you're looking for.
Thanks! I created an account, but it asks for and XML file of my sitemap. Would you know how I create such a file? Kind of a problem in my process.
I actually talked to one of their reps and they said they are coming out with this functionality within the next week. So thanks again, much appreciated.
You can use a Sitemap Generator online which will give you a xml file
It has to be one generated by their software I believe - it was denied: http://screencast.com/t/0q9vm9Bh
maybe it's a bit late, but still. Your task can be easily done with our software product Site Visualizer.
Download and install it, then click Create new project button, type your website URL, then press Start button in order to crawl the site.
After the crawling process is complete, click Draw button of the Visual Sitemap tab. You'll be given the following sitemap visualization.
Click on a box will highlight all outbound links of the page. You can also save the visualization to an image file.
