    is this possible

How do you listen for the input box with the cursor in it without using onfocus? I'm using an anonymous function with a function key as trigger. I think that means I can't use onfocus (at least I can't think of a way to use it), so is there another way to target the input box that has the cursor in it?

Show some code to give us a hint about what it is that you are trying to do.

Personally anonymous functions are something I don't like. If you want a script to run on page load then use the proper method available to run what functions need running or use another autonomous function method that gives you some control over what you want to achieve.

If you want to target an input box then you can use the tabindex in HTML and a simple script to look for the tabindex of the box you want the focus to be in.
