Is there a reason why you would not use media queries? You can have responsive site with just setting % instead of fixed value. However to look great on different resolutions you will need media queries.

    Hi,

i am also in the same question @ http://www.webdeveloper.com/forum/sh...onsive-Design-!!

you stated, need to use % values with needed media queries, but i seen @ template monster, they had 2 types

    1) bootstrap 2) responsive

so boootstrap is different, so no issues

In Responsive, they not used any % values on the design

    For your Reference

kindly have a look and let me know

    Thanks

Sorry if I expressed myself in the wrong way. You are not required to have media queries with % values. Media queries just allow you to easily control the layout/design on different resolutions.

In the reference you do not have fluid grid. You have a fixed grid with media queries controlling the layout based on detected device. If you check the code on that site you will see they use a skeleton grid system and that this system supports 3 types of devices Mobile, Tablets and Base(desktops).

    Thanks for your reply coding123,

I used media queries for specific resolution. eg 240*320. Its working fine for that specific resolution.

But now a days so many resolutions available, so it is hard to do media queries for all resolution. Am right?

So am looking for , the contents should auto fit depending upon the the resolution.

    Is there any solution?

am also in the same question.....

@ coding123 . Thanks for your reply, i seen "Skeleton", its same as "foundation" or "bootstrap"

As tiny Question, which is used to make responsive on All devices ? ( either bootstrap or foundation or only media queries or etc)

we need to code generally like custom css, then it should work on All devices , thats it

You can check http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1...querieshttp://. It provides nice info on the subject you are asking.

    @coding123,

i got reply from one of poster

"You can have your default styles for desktops and laptops, then add a media query for smartphones (320px width). And if you think it's best, you can have another media query for tablets with a lower resolution than most desktops.

The key point is designing the page with a flexible layout so that you can adjust to different screen sizes without losing any functionality (or, hopefully, without losing visual appeal). My advice is to experiment with some simple pages to learn the basics of responsive design before you try to make a real website. Once you get some experience with how everything works, it will be much easier to create a page you'll like.
    "

i am going to try , let's see

    Thanks

    Hi jabeen,

I agree with you.. Media queries are best for responsive.

But now in market, so many resolutions are there (android, ios devices).

I heared about there are 15 different types are resolutions there.

So there is a only way to do media queries for all those resolutions?

I am looking forward for your reply
