Flash in IE 9 but not in IE 11

    Hello Forum,

I am using a small flash object in the index page of www.gelsana.com. It appears on one computer using IE 9 but not on another computer using IE 11. I first thought it might be an issue with a virus, but I ran a couple of anti-virus programs and I still have the issue on the computer using IE 11. Any advice?

What I would prefer to do instead of just not showing the little flash object is post some sort of message instead telling the user to download this or that. But since the cause of it not showing, I guess, might be for several reasons, I would need some sort of browser sniffer. I mean, it does not show at all in Chrome or Firefox.

    So... um... Flash is dead.

Yes, assuming a user has installed the plugin Flash should show on a browser. Well, maybe. iThings will never -- ever -- display Flash. I don't have an Android device, but my understanding is that users must jump through a bunch of hoops to make Flash work. Most of those users won't.

This is the beginning of the end. Move on to something else. Look up Google's Swiffy for converting existing Flash files and objects to HTML5. It seems to come with some overhead (byte-wise) over Flash, at least in a couple of my brief experiments. And some things don't quite display as they do in Flash. I had a faded background image in one Flash file that turned out not faded after a Swiffy conversion.

I just tried google's swiffy online conversion routine and it produced a blank image. The tool showed a side-by side comparison of the original image, looking normal, and the swiffy image all blank. The downloaded swiffy html is also blank.

I redid the html file by testing a file with the flash component added that I made from scratch with dreamweaver. In other words, I made a blank html file in dreamweaver with the swf file added and it made all the proper settings. THis test html worked in IE 11 and Chrome.

But it did not come up in firefox. WHy?
