Does the DTD type matter now

    Hi

I hope this isn't too dumb a question. Now we have the shorter HTML5 DTD, can this be safely used on pages coded with HTML4.01 and/or XHTML1.1. I appreciate this will affect validation, but does it matter now if I use the shorter Doctype even if the page is not specifically HTML5?

    Thanks

    George

This page should give you your answer:

But the gist is, go for it.

    Hi Kevin

That was most useful and I think it answered my question.

    Many thanks

    George
